What I intend publishing here is as much an experiment as as well as having some value and interest. I will repost some older essays from Medium and begin on creating on the themes that interest me. These should be longer form than single posts on BlueSky or Mastodon.

Themes

The regular themes, which should become regular strands, are, in no particular order, **Ethics,Politics,Reviews,Books,Stories both true-ish and fictional, my work on zettel.io, Opinions, History (especially when it seems to be echoing), Archaeology or rather Ancient History as informed by it, thoughts on Memory, pre-literate societies and the tendency for societies to merge as well as migrate.

The Experiment

Following on from working on zettel.io, I've thought about how to do something similar but with a magazine or newspaper and the kind of CMS that's required to make it straightforward for strangers to write copy, collaborate in the editing and layout and what a fixed publishing cycle around it would look like.

This then is why I'm using Ghost, to see if the layout control is sufficently flexable and controllable and that it wouldn't turn into something like Wordcraft (this may not be possible).

The Note JSON Post format looks useable but it would need encapsulating and I'd want something that works on a document or article level (I'd probably still use Couch). But the backend database should be isolatable. On the otherhand the use of node fills me with no pleasure at all.

In setting this Ghost 6 up I've had some non interesting experiences, which I'll summarise in a different posting.
